Keep in mind, this is a KINDERGARTEN we toured today, which in reality was more like a kid's university!
Before we started, the ladies took a short nap.
The kindergarten we visited today has about 400 kids attending. The kindergarten complex is huge. After entering through the front entrance, we were greeted by the staff in the courtyard which has the water fountain below.
The school has a full sized computer lab with, I estimate, 40 PCs in a very large classroom. They also have a music room with roughly 25 -30 electric keyboards, all in a nicely furnished room.
They also have a small animal pen adjoining the courtyard which they use to acquaint the little ones to the day's next meal, chicken.
Ok, Ok, I'm just joking about their next meal. It is to help expose them to animals.
The school has a huge room that is designated as a "Role Play Room" complete with kitchen, bedroom, and dining room for several groups of kids to role play running a household.
For those that like ballet, no problem the school has a ballet class just for you.
You like to sing, no problem there either, the school has got several classes packed with little ones who like to sing. We were first serenaded by the "kids in blue" and then later on...
we were serenaded again by the "kids in orange" to well known children songs done in Chinese such as "London Bridge is Falling Down" and so on.
Since some of our group have brought their other children along, the kids played a couple of rounds of musical chairs.
This has to be the largest play tube we have ever seen. The picture does not do it justice, you can only see about 1/3 of it in this picture. I can't help but wonder if they have ever lost someone in it, the size is amazing.
The red ornament is a traditional one that is made from one piece of string, or rope in this case.
Then the highlight of the whole tour. The school is number one in China for children's gymnastics. Last year the school won the highest award in China's children gymnastic competitions. These little ones, 5 years old, had been training for only 6 months when they gave us their presentation. It was absolutely amazing and so well choreographed. The show was about 5 minutes long and they were just fantastic.
Maybe one of these will someday be in the Olympics!
Well, after we got back to the room it was time to feed Nicole and then...
Sing softly to her until she fell asleep.
